Overview
<p>Management Information Systems (MIS) broadly refers to technology-enabled systems which provide apt tools and mechanisms to the executives for ensuring an effective and efficient way of managing business processes within an organization. The key responsibility of the MIS managers is to exploit organizational excellence by applying appropriate technological solutions to business problems. On the other side, information is considered as a vital precursor for the business problem-solving process; however, information will not be praiseworthy enough if it cannot serve the purposes timely, accurately, and with the highest reliability. In the department of MIS, graduates learn to ensure the mentioned characteristics of information to guarantee the operational righteousness of the business process. The graduates of MIS also learn how to manage and develop various information systems so that they can best serve the needs of an organization. Furthermore, they learn how to create and operationalize automated Information systems for sorting, gathering, and storing data. Along with all these, the graduates also learn how to ensure the security of information systems using modern cyber security techniques, how to build and manage a network essential for sharing data among the business users, how to visualize and analyze sophisticated Information using modern business analytics tools. The Department of MIS is well-equipped with modern computer labs, network multimedia classrooms, and cyber security lab, Research Lab, and wide space well-decorated offices. All classrooms are festooned with overhead projectors, high-speed Internet connection, ergonomically designed furniture, and air-conditioners. All the students have access to digital resources like Masdar, Pro-Quest, and as well Learning Resource Center to provide the textbooks and course materials related to students' studies and research works. The faculty of MIS are highly qualified professionals with distinguishing advising-skill and actively engaging in wide-ranging research work. The faculty are not only involved in teaching, research, and academic advising but also offer services to the community through workshops and training skills. The faculty also regularly reviews the program to encompass modern business challenges and students’ feedback.</p>
