Program Overview
The main objective of this program is to develop the next generation of Omani students who will be able to lead the security of digital infrastructure of Oman both in public and private organisations. Students who will graduate with the BSc in Cybersecurity will possess skills in digital forensics, ethical hacking cyber-risk management and computer network security. Furthermore, the program is designed to help the learners develop scientific, mathematical and management skills, problem solving, analysis, organization, evaluation and supervision, research and development in information technology and cyber security. The program is in line with Oman Vision 2040, which outlined Oman’s ambitious strategy to move away from oil dependency and to have a diversified economy that can only be attained by the indigenization of the Omani workforce by investing through technology, knowledge and innovation.
Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity
The taught elements of the program comprise an integrated package of University requirements, College requirements, Major requirements and elective courses. All degree students must also complete an eight-week internship training course in addition to the taught courses of the program.
Degree and Study Plan-Cyber Security-2024
Students must fulfill the following minimum entry requirements:
· High school diploma should be 65% or above
· Attainment of 65% or above in Pure Mathematics and English.
· The student must pass the general foundation program (English, mathematics, computer, and learning skills).
· Students who have studied in other educational institutions recognized by the University may be eligible to transfer if the they earned a grade point average of 2.0 or higher over a four-point grade scale. The head of the academic department or dean in the College in which the student has enrolled shall evaluate all courses taught at the former institution in which the student earned a grade of C or higher.
